Shoe Care

Look after your shoes, and they’ll look after you’

Proper care and maintenance of your Anatomic Shoes will help to ensure their longevity in wear.

Unlike other new men's shoes that can only be worn for a few hours at a time, Anatomic shoes are comfortable enough to wear all day. But for longer lasting wear, we advise you change your shoes every other day, so that they can rest.

To maintain their shape, always use a shoe tree. If damp due to rain, insert shoe trees or newspaper and leave on their side to dry.

We offer a broad selection of products to ensure your shoes remain in tip-top condition. Keep your new pair looking shiny and clean when you use our specially formulated products, which have been created to preserve the condition and quality of your shoes for as long as you own them.

For longer lasting wear, we recommend that you follow the guidelines below:

Smooth or Full-grain leathers:

The natural leathers we use to make our shoes are treated with a minimal amount of chemical products (this ensures their soft natural feel).

To begin, use a soft damp cloth, before leaving to dry at room temperature. Then apply our Wetbloc cleaning foam to clean and protect, followed by one of our shoe creams to shine. Apply cream with slow, circular movements, using as much cream as your shoes needs. This should help to prolong life and maintain their appearance. Allow 15 minutes to dry.

After, brush the entire shoe vigorously, ideally using a horsehair shine brush. This is to brush off all the excess cream, leaving only a small film on the outside of the shoes.

Suede or Nubuck:

To protect suede, we recommend applying a waterproof spray before wearing. Using a suede brush will help to lift dry surface dirt and keep suede looking new. Suede can also be revived with steam and gently brushing with a rubber suede brush.

For nubuck, you can use one of our sprays especially formulated for nubuck surfaces. Always allow shoes to dry at room temperature away from localised heat.

Waxy leather:

A waxed finish can show natural marks found on Brazilian bovine leathers, and requires a little extra care as can otherwise look tired and distressed.

To care for this type of leather, apply our Tacco cleaning oil for waxy leather (please be aware that this will darken the leather for up to 24 hours) with a soft cloth to moisturise, protect and maintain the ‘worn’ look. Any waxy care product may alter the colour of your shoes so we advise you to test them on a small, hidden area first. For this type of leather, there is no need to use a coloured polish as it is not supposed to have a high shine.

Replace your laces and insoles:

We want your Anatomic shoes to look and feel their best. That’s why we offer free laces and insoles to help give your shoes a new lease of life. For free laces and insoles, simply call our customer services team on 0844 2258 222.
